The mission of the Parish and Community Garden ministry is to grow produce for those in need within our parish and local community.
As we begin Year 2 of our garden ministry, volunteers are needed to help prepare the beds, plant, cultivate, and harvest the produce from the garden. This will involve “hands-on” work.
The garden team meets on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30 – 6:30 PM during the growing season from June through October. However, the garden is open during the day if that time is not convenient for you. All are welcome to share in the joy of the gardening ministry!
List of strengths that fit this ministry:
- Willingness to work
- Willingness to share in fellowship and make friends!
- Gardening knowledge is NOT required as our goal is to learn as much as we can about gardening and develop skills to provide healthy and wholesome vegetables that can be shared with those in need in our community and parish family.
Please get in touch with Larry Cadorniga, lcadorniga@stmmagdalen.org or 616-455-9310 in the parish office for more information.
A limited number of 10 x 10 plots are also available for individuals to rent for the growing season.
